The award follows an analysis of Neighborhood’s benefits and compensation offerings as well as a confidential staff survey
May 16, 2017 (Smithfield) – Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island today announced that it has been named one of the region’s “Best Places to Work” by Providence Business News (PBN) and the Best Companies Group (BCG), a Pennsylvania-based firm that gathers and analyzes data about successful employers nationwide.
Neighborhood earned the honor in the “Large Business” category (between 150 – 499 employees).
“This award confirms what we already knew: Neighborhood is a remarkable place to work and it’s filled with mission-driven, dedicated professionals who have the needs of our members at the top of their minds every day,” explained Peter Marino, Neighborhood’s President and CEO.
BCG began collecting information about Neighborhood in March, 2017, beginning with an assessment of the non-profit health insurer’s internal policies, benefits packages, and human relations’ practices. Next, BCG administered a confidential survey to a random sample of Neighborhood employees.
“This process took a close look at the work Neighborhood does to be an employer of choice – that includes our corporate culture and trust and respect in the workplace as well as benefits, compensation and training opportunities,” said Lisa Whiting, Neighborhood’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “This recognition tells us our employees appreciate the support Neighborhood provides them as they work hard every day to serve some of our state’s most at-risk residents.”
Neighborhood will formally receive the “Best Places to Work” award at a ceremony in June.
